Planning & Public Process
If you are seeking to further historic preservation programs in your community, we can analyze existing (or recommend new) programs, develop program strategies, provide public workshops and commissoin training, craft historic preservation plans and guidelines, and develop ordinances and policies. We are also highly skilled at crafting and implementing public processes to ensure that historic preservation programs and design guidelines meet the community's needs. We expedite the approval process by providing upfront advice on project designs subject to historical (or other) design review processes. Our knowledge of local design guidelines, and the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation helps you to find workable solutions during the initial planning phases of a project, saving you time and money in the long-run. We consult with you, review submittals and represent your project at neighborhood/stakeholder, government and Board/Commission meetings. Zoning entitlement research and representation is also available.
We can identify and apply financial tools to assist your historic preservation projects, including (but not limited to) grant applications, local property tax relief (where applicable), and federal/state historic preservation tax credits.
